Midwest Finishing Systems is a leader in the design, fabrication, and installation of complete turnkey systems for industrial finishing and powder coat applications.  We are currently looking for an experienced Marvel CNC Vertical Saw Operator.

In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and safely operating CNC and automated vertical saw equipment to cut materials. You will work from engineering drawings and production schedules to ensure steel raw materials are cut accurately, efficiently, and to precise specifications.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Safely set up and operate CNC vertical saws and automated cutting equipment to cut raw materials to size.
• Reading & Interpreting Plans: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, cut lists, and job orders to determine exact cutting dimensions and tolerances.
• Programming & Adjustments: Load/input programs, adjust feeds and speeds, and position materials for optimal machine performance and minimal material waste.
• Quality Control: Measure and verify cut parts using precision measuring instruments such as tape measures and square gauges.
• Material Handling: Load and unload raw stock and finished parts utilizing material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts or overhead cranes).
• Maintenance: Perform routine machine maintenance, including clearing chips, cleaning, lubricating, and changing saw blades.
• Documentation: Record production data, report any faulty equipment, dimensional deviations, or quality issues to supervisors.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area using 5S or similar workplace organization practices.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational/technical training.
• Technical Skills: Ability to read technical drawings and proficient knowledge of shop math.
• Tool Proficiency: Experience using precision measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
• Certifications: Forklift certification or ability to pass forklift training is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Previous experience with CNC programming is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Previous experience operating CNC machinery is a plus.
